In 2002, a song from the "Ted 'n' Ted" cassette, "New York Subway," was featured as part of the Transit exhibit at the National Building Museum, Washington, DC 20001. Lyrical co-writer of "New York Subway" is Harlem's Beatryce Whaley. For her, Floyd Lee (Ted Williams) and many New Yorkers, the subways are as much a haunt as a means of transportation.
Under the MTA's's Art for Transit banner, Floyd "Mississippi Delta Blues" Lee has delighted passersby in such favorite subway stations as 53rd Street and Lexington, Times Square, 34th Street / Herald Sq, and Long Island Railroad in Penn Station and Metro North in Grand Central Stations. Prior to the major renovation of the great room at Grand Central Terminal, Floyd Lee was regularly scheduled to play in front of Chase bank's former location at the east end (now restored as an elaborate staircase).
Each Christmas Eve, during those days prior to Grand Central Station's major renovation, Floyd Lee's Mississippi Delta Blues were GTC's feature act in the Main Lobby, entertained circles of travelers laden with gifts, waiting to board Metro North for the final leg before the holiday actually began. The atmosphere was almost peaceful, with passengers stretching out to sit on the floor beside their bags, taking time to listen to "Downhome Blues" and "Can't Stand to See You Go".
Ted 'n' Ted cassette $15.00
